Springbok director of Rassie Erasmus looks to have joined the Twitter community and used his very first tweet to silence rumours linking him to the England head coach role replacing Eddie Jones.
On Sunday morning, a major story in broke reporting that Erasmus was talking to the RFU, who apparently were considering hiring Erasmus to take over from Eddie Jones when the latter’s contract expires at the end of 2021.
The 47-year-old was present at Murrayfield on Saturday as England edged Scotland 13-6 in the Six Nations, relieving pressure on Jones in the wake of successive defeats.
A RFU spokesperson told the PA news agency that “we strongly dismiss this story” before the account was opened with the first tweet including a video posted to Erasmus’ apparent Twitter account @RassieRugby, he stated: ‘Not sure I would know what to say to any other team before a World Cup Final. Not Happening!!!’

When questioned if it really is Erasmus himself, the account responded with another video with the caption: "New at this so appologise for poor editing but yes !! This is us/me"

The account has quickly racked up nearly a thousand followers at the time of writing this with the official account of the Springboks one of the followers, so it is more than likely the man himself.
An SA Rugby spokesperson later confirmed that Rassie Erasmus’ Twitter account is the official handle of the director of rugby.
