Rebels shock Brumbies in rain
- 391
The Melbourne Rebels scored their first victory ever against the Brumbies, taking a rain-drenched Vodacom Super Rugby game 13-8 in Canberra on Saturday.
With conditions making an entertaining match unlikely, the Rebels went out early to a 13-0 lead and had to stave off a late fightback from the home side to get their first victory in five outings between the two sides.
In the process they also stopped the Brumbies’ 11 match winning streak at home and brought the Australian conference a whole lot closer following the Waratahs win over the Hurricanes earlier in the day.
