Sale Sharks sharpen their teeth for Bath scrap

Sale Sharks will be licking their lips at the prospect of having a crack at the last-placed Bath this weekend at The Rec.

Sale’s narrow victory over Gloucester last weekend was the 9th of their campaign which has put them in 7th spot.

From their 18 fixtures, Bath have managed just 4 wins and are looking to end strongly on what has been a very poor season. Last round they enjoyed a bye and the round before managed a slender but valuable victory over Bristol Bears:

The teams last faced each other in the first round of the competition and it was Sale who emerged victorious, albeit by only a single point:

From the coaches:

Neal Hatley, Bath Rugby:

“The spirit of the team in the win over Bristol was really pleasing. The supporters who came out again in their droves and did such a brilliant job too. We’re looking forward to a similar occasion on Saturday.”

Alex Sanderson, Sale Sharks:

“Manu Tuilagi is up for selection this weekend. He is looking sharp this week and to have him back is brilliant on and off the field.Tom Curry is out for another five to six weeks with a hamstring tear.”
