Scotland vs France: Top Performers

Round 2 of the six nations got underway at Murrayfield earlier today, which saw the French secure a nailbiting  20-16 win in the closing stages of the match. This see's Les Blues bounce back from last weeks loss to defending Champions Ireland to put an end to back to back losses.

After an opening round win against Wales, the Scottish let go go of the lead against France, resulting in their fisrt loss of the 2024 Six Nations campaign. However, with every game, there are always the star and standout performers. Here is a list of thre of the best from today's fixture:

Gaël Fickou

The French outside centre was named the player of the match and rightfully so. In only 5 carries, Fickou made 50 metres, literally averaging 10 metres per carry while completing one pass while beating 3 defenders. A work horse on defense as well, Fickou completed eight tackles while also scoring the opening try for France to cap off a well deserved man of the match performance.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey

The French left wing dazzled in the second-half, most notably through his try (see in app). Bielle-Biarrey beat one defender on the day, while also securing a clean line break. Off his five carries, he made a solid 20 metres, while completing two tackles to stake his claim on the match.

Harry Paterson

It was a big day for the debutant who slotted in at Fullback as regular starter as Kyle Steyn dropped out to attend the birth of his child. With one tackle made, Patterson followed it up with one offload and 5 passes. With  10 carries, he secured a mammoth 81 metres, while beating two defenders. It is safe to say the he has put his hand up for selection in the next game.
