The Brumbies set a solid platform on the back of a hat-trick of tries from Fainga'a, the hosts looked all but home with two minutes remaining. An inability to kill off the clock however has seen the Highlanders hold their nerve before a try in the 84th minute to Ben-Nicholas saw the visitors snatch a terrific one-point victory.
