Super Rugby AU: The Top Three Players Of The Day

Super Rugby AU: The Top Three Players Of The Day

The Brumbies made it two from two this morning as they narrowly beat the NSW Waratahs 24-23 away from home.

The ACT side have now gone onto win eight of their last nine Super Rugby games against the Tahs, including their last 5 on the bounce; neither side has managed five consecutive wins in the history of this fixture.

Going into this game NSW had won six of their last eight Australian derbies on home turf however, both of their last two defeats were against the Brumbies.

The game was a very stop start one and neither team could really get into any rhythm during the game.

Here are our five best players from today’s match:

Tom Banks (Brumbies)

The Australian international led the ranks for metres gained in the match. He managed 92 metres and carried the ball 11 times.

Thomas Cusack (Brumbies)

The flanker scored an opportunistic try but he also had 14 carries in the match which was the highest in his team. The loose forward also had a good work rate on defence as he made 100% of his tackles!

Andy Muirhead (Brumbies)

The Australian winger had a busy game today and to be fair he was probably the best player on the park. The 27-year-old made 91 metres with the ball in hand, made eight carries and beat four defenders with ball in hand.
