The Bulls came out the gate firing and looked to upset the Chiefs perfect start to Super Rugby 2017, when the lead 9-3 at the break.

The Chiefs 2nd halfway was much better than their 1st and McKenzie was the mastermind behind the Chiefs resurgence as he broke down the Bulls defence. 

The All Black fullback beat 6 defenders and picked up 2 clean breaks. He made an astonishing 132 metres from his 18 ball carries as the Chiefs scored 3 tries to win the game 28-12.

Amanaki Mafi

Mafi had a massive game against the Highlanders even though his side went down 51 points to 12. 


Mafi made 13 tackles in the game and forced 2 turnovers. He was the best performing forward on attack as he made 47 metres, Jack Debreczeni was the only Rebel to get more. 


The Japanese international's discipline was also a highlight for the Rebels as he did not give a single penalty away throughout the match.

The Stormers captain lead his side to a 53-10 victory over the Cheetahs on Saturday but it was the Springbok flanker's defence that really stood out against the Cheetahs.

Kolisi made a total of 20 tackles without missing a single tackle. Although he put in a good shift in defence, his attacking performance did not go unnoticed as he went over for a try and set up another.

He also picked up a clean break from his 8 carries making 21 metres and completing 2 offloads for his side.

Last year’s finalist, the Lions, hosted an in-form Sharks side on Saturday in the 2nd South African derby of the weekend.

The Lions scored a late try to secure a 34-29 victory over the Sharks, but it was Bosch who was named the man of the match at the end of the game as he scored 19 points for the visitors.

Bosch controlled to Sharks attacked and put in a solid defensive display as the Lions attack targeted the youngster channel.

He scored points with regular easy and slotted a mammoth kick from inside his own half. He also slotted a drop goal and hit the cross bar from about halfway on his second attempt. 

The Springbok under-20 finished the match beating 2 defenders from his 8 carries, but Bosch's kicking display was something any rugby fanatic would love to see again.

In the final game of Super Rugby, we were treated to a sensational cross-Tasman derby as the Crusaders travelled to Sydney to face the Waratahs.

The Crusaders earned their 6th straight Super Rugby win of the season as they beat the Waratahs 41-22.

George Bridge built on his solid start to the season with a stand-out performance against the Waratahs as he made a match high of 156 metres for the Crusaders as he scored the opening try for the Crusaders.

Bridge beat 6 defenders and picked up 3 clean breaks, he completed an all-round performance with an offload and a turnover.
