The PRO14 Playoff Race

The PRO14 Playoff Race

Conference A

1. Glasgow Warriors (71)

2. Munster (68)

3. Connacht (56)

4. Cardiff (52)

The top of the conference remains the same as pace setters Glasgow & Munster both won their matches with a bonus point, which means Glasgow take a three point lead going into the 20th round of action. The race for the third spot and final qualifier for the end of the season Final Series saw Connacht notch a win over Zebre, while Cardiff lost to Munster, leaving the Irish province four points in front with two games remaining. The next round sees the two sides face off in Galway, a win for Connacht could cement their place in the playoffs with a game to spare.

Conference B

1. Leinster (74)

2. Ulster (54)

3. Benetton (52)

4. Edinburgh (51)

Conference leaders Leinster could only draw with Benetton leaving them 20 points clear at the top of the standings. The late draw was a massive boost to Benetton as they remain in reach of securing end of season rugby for the first time. Edinburgh beat Scarlets in Llanelli to enhance their chance of progression to the Final Series. Ulster went down in Glasgow but lie two points ahead of third place with two games to go and travel to Edinburgh in the next round in a game that will have a large implication on which sides qualify for the quarter finals.
