Serin sidelined for 3 weeks

Bordeaux Beagles scrum half Baptiste Serin will be sidelined for 3 weeks after suffering a concussion against Pau on the weekend.

The 23-year-old could miss his sides Top 14 clash against La Rochelle on 23 December.

Bedford Blues sign Huw Worthington until the end of the season

Bedford Blues have added to their back-row options with the signing of Huw Worthington until the end of the season.

Worthington, who has featured for the Dragons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Northampton and Scarlets, had attracted attention from a number of Championship clubs but it was Bedford that he chose and he's quickly immersed himself in training ahead of this weekend's British & Irish Cup clash with Munster A.

England Sevens squad named for Cape Town

England Sevens head coach Simon Amor has named his squad for the Cape Town Sevens on 9-10 December, where England will return to the Cape Town Stadium as defending champions.

Charlie Hayter re-joins the squad for Cape Town after making his return from injury in the Dubai Sevens invitational tournament last weekend. Hayter captained the England Sevens academy side, playing under the banner of The Royals, and was 13th man for the World Series squad.

Van der Merwe extends Sharks stay

The Sharks have announced that hooker Akker van der Merwe has signed a two-year contract extension with the Durban-based side.

The lively hooker signed with the Sharks having helped the Lions to back-to-back Super Rugby finals.

Ruan Ackermann - Premiership Rugby Player of the Month for November 2017

Ackermann has made a huge impression at Kingsholm, helping his side into the top four of the Premiership since arriving in the summer from the Lions.

He was involved in a four-way battle for the latest title, eventually beating Worcester Warriors pair Josh Adams and Francois Hougaard and Olly Woodburn of Exeter Chiefs to the title.
