Peter Ryan appointed Queensland Reds Defence Coach:

Ryan has signed a deal with the Reds until the end of 2020. The dual code Premiership winning player played at the Bromco's with Brad Thorn before going to the Brumbies and winning the Super RUgby title with them in 2001.

Nathan Hughes suspended:

No judgement has been issued following the citing but Nathan Hughes will be suspended until an outcome is reached. Hughes will miss the opening Champions Cup game against Leinster on Friday night.

Hoeata and Lienert-Brown get 5 week suspensions:


Both players received red cards in the Mitre 10 Cup game between Taranaki and Canterbury on the weekend. Jarrad Hoeata for a retaliation punch and Daniel Lienert-Brown for a headbutt

Dane Coles Returns:


Dane Coles has been named in the Wellington side to play in the Mitre 10 Cup tomorrow. The All Black last played a competitive game in November last year scoring a try in New Zealands win over France. He played just 23 minutes before being forced off.

Ospreys sign Bulls player on short term deal:

Johnny Kotze will join the Ospeys following the completion of the current Currie Cup campaign. He has signed a 3 month deal. Kotze, who has played 34 Super Rugby games for the Bulls and Stormers and has scored 8 tries.

Connor Murray commits to Ireland and Munster:

After much speculation and courting by a number of European clubs, Murray has extended his contract with the IRFU and Munster which will see him stay on until 2020.
