Top 14 Highlights: Union Bordeaux Begles Vs Perpignan

Bordeaux continued their push for a top six play-off spot with a 31-22 home win over bottom of the table Perpignan in round 21 of the French Top 14. Bordeaux started strongly, slotting two penalties and running in two tries to storm into an 18-0 lead.  Perpignan settled into the match and went over for a try and kicked a penalty to trail 18-10 at the break. An early second Bordeaux penalty was followed by a second Perpignan try as the visitors reduced the deficit to six points at 21-15. Perpignan then picked up a yellow card, allowing Bordeaux to slot a penalty and cross for their third try to take control of the match at 31-15. Bordeaux were reduced to 13 players after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession, which saw Perpignan run in a late try, but the hosts held on for their 12th Top 14 victory of the season.
