Top 5 tacklers in the Aviva Premiership this season

We take a look at the top tacklers so far in the Aviva Premiership after some great defensive peformances to start the season.

1. Maro Itoje (32)

Itoje made a massive 26 tackles on Sunday against Exeter Chiefs, the highest total since former Saracens teammate Jaques Burger made 34 back in November 2013.

2. Chris Robshaw, James Horwill, Guy Thompson (28)


Two Quins boys feature alongside with Wasps' Thompson. Robshaw was the busiest of the trio making 19 tackles against Sale, only missing 1 tackle.


3. Schalk Burger, Luke Wallace, Brad Barritt, Jack Clifford (27)

New signing Schalk Burger has settled into life well at Saracens showing no signs of age with outstanding workout. He is joined by 3 England internationals, with Barritt the highest tackling back with 27 tackles, with 21 coming against the Chiefs on Sunday.

4. Charlie Ewels, Will Witty (26)

The 2 second rows faced off against eachother on the weekend, with Ewels' Bath demolshing Newcastle 58-5.

5. Mark Wilson, Calum Green, Tommy Taylor, Dave Atwood, Marco Mama (25)
