Toyota Cheetahs look to get the job done

Toyota Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has called on the Pool 1 leaders to maintain their unbeaten start to their EPCR Challenge Cup campaign as they welcome Section Paloise to the NRCA Stadium in Amsterdam for Round 3.

"We said from the start that we want to improve on last year’s performance and if we can finish top of the log, we can definitely get a bit of an easier draw in the Round of 16, which will help," he told The Citizen.

“So, that is some extra motivation for us to play well in the next two weeks and make sure that we continue where we left off. We’ve given ourselves a good chance with the wins against Zebre and the Sharks, and now we have to continue and finish the job.”

Toyota Cheetahs scrum-half Ruan Pienaar is the leading points-scorer in the tournament so far with 30 from six conversions and six penalties.

Section Paloise sit fifth in the table on four points, having the fewest carry metres (an average of 235 per 80 minutes), beaten the fewest defenders (21), and the lowest rate of carry dominance in the competition (19.9 per cent) so far.
