Ulster prop Declan Fitzpatrick's ban reduced to one game

– 02 October 2014The actual ruling handed down to the tight-head prop by the independent PRO12 Disciplinary Committee had been for two weeks, as is the case with an incident which was at the low end of the IRB sanction over Law 10.
4(a): Striking another player with a hand, arm or fist.
But the committee opted to apply a one-week reduction having viewed the incident, taken on board several mitigating factors and heard representations on behalf of the player as well as taking into account his previously exemplary playing record.
