Pele Cowley

16th Apr 1993 1.75m/85kg Scrum Half

Cowley arrived at Cardiff after a season ending injury to Lewis Jones left just Lloyd and Tomos Williams as the senior contingent in contention to wear the nine jersey.

Unfortunately for him, both players stayed fit and free from Team Wales duty, restricting the Samoan international to just two Anglo-Welsh Cup appearances and some British and Irish Cup outings.

Cowley will return to New Zealand where he is contracted to play for Waikato in this season’s Mitre10 Cup. In 2019 he was selected for the Samoa squad ahead of the Pacific Nations Cup.

Cowley originally missed out on selection for the Samoa Rugby World Cup squad but was called in following an injury to Scott Malolua.

He heads to the Rugby World Cup with 12 test caps.
