Richard Hill

23rd May 1973 1.88m/100kg Head Coach

Richard Hill had a decorated career in which he represented the Lions on three successive Tours from 1997 to 2005.

He made his Test debut in the Tour of South Africa in 1997 at the age of 24 and played a key role in the two opening Tests to secure a momentous triumph.

Four years later and he was selected for the trip to Australia where he appeared in the first two Tests but injury ruled him out of the deciding match at Stadium Australia.

Sir Clive Woodward rated Hill so highly in an England jersey that he was the only player never to be dropped by the former head coach.

His fifth Lions Test cap came in the first match against New Zealand in 2005 but an injury in the second half ended the World Cup winner’s Tour prematurely.

In 2013, French ProD2 side, Rouen Normandie approached Hill to take on the General Manager role at the club.
