Remi Tales

2nd May 1984 1.86m/93kg Fly Half

Remi Tales had a slow start to his career, only making his French debut at the age of 28. The composed fly-half currently plays for Racing Metro in the Top 14 having signed as a replacement for the departing Jonny Sexton. Tales began his career with Stade Montois before moving to La Rochelle in 2006.

He established himself as a key player at La Rochelle, helping them to promotion to the Top 14 in the 2009–10 season.

After La Rochelle's relegation in 2011, he moved to Castres where his perfromances earned him a call up to the French national side in 2013. In 2015 he was selected to represent France at the Rugby World Cup in England.

Following the World Cup, Tales signed for Paris-based side Racing 92. He was relatively successful with Racing and the helped the side win the 2015/16 Top 14 season.

Tales announced that he would leave Racing 92 at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Tales thought he had played his final top flight club match against Agen but was called onto the bench for the Champions Cup semi-final after Dan Carter withdrew through injury.

He came onto the pitch early on in the match due to another injury and guided Racing 92 to the final of the Champions Cup, a match that he started.

His final game for Racing would be the Top14 semi-final against Castres with the experienced flyhalf returning to his boyhood side Mont-de-Marsan ahead of the 2018/19 ProD2 season.
