A powerful young hooker out of Mount Albert Grammar School, Soane Vikena is a name to remember for the future.
Having toured Australia with the New Zealand Secondary Schools in 2018, Vikena went on to help Ponsonby win their 50th Gallagher Shield title and was prominent in a thrilling Colts final which Ponsonby lost to Grammar Tech 21-20.
A destructive player on both sides of the ball Vikena is nicknamed 'Rhino' by his fellow players and is already working his way up the ranks in Auckland with the Blues.
Vikena will have his first opportunity to impress at a senior level having been included in Auckland's 2020 Mitre 10 Cup squad.
