Lions make two changes for visit to Cardiff

The Emirates Lions’ starting team for their third round United Rugby Championship clash against Cardiff in Wales on Friday night shows two changes from the side that beat the Ospreys last weekend.

Pieter Jansen van Vuren will start at lock in place of Ruben Schoeman, while former the Junior Springbok Player of the Year, Henco van Wyk, will run out at outside centre, in place of Zander du Plessis.

While Schoeman drops out of the match-23, Du Plessis moves to the bench, where he is joined by Ruhan Straeuli.

The rest of the match day squad from last weekend’s great victory in Swansea is unchanged, with Gianni Lombard again starting at flyhalf, after his kicking off the tee helped the men from Johannesburg to their 28-27 win in Swansea last weekend.

The match in Cardiff is scheduled to kick off at 20h35 on Friday evening and will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
