Newcastle Falcons sign Nottingham tight-head Mike Daniels

Newcastle Falcons have completed the signing of prop Mike Daniels from Nottingham on a one-year deal.

The 27-year-old tight-head has been on trial with the Falcons for the last few weeks, director of rugby Dean Richards saying: "Mike is a good operator who has shown up well.

"He will definitely add to our squad, he is well regarded and we've been impressed by what we have seen from him during the couple of weeks he has spent with us."

The 117kg forward made one Premiership appearance for Wasps last season having been loaned there from Nottingham, and is relishing the opportunity of joining the Falcons.

Born in Reading, the front-rower was a member of Bath's academy prior to studying at Loughborough University, going on to make 35 first team appearances in three seasons for Worcester Warriors.

Spending the 2017-18 season with Hartpury, Daniels moved to Nottingham in 2018-19 and made seven Championship appearances as well as earning his loan spell at Wasps.
