Premiership Highlights: Sale Sharks vs Wasps

Wasps edged the Sale Sharks 26-23 in round 4 of the Premiership. The first half was a tight affair as the sides traded a penalty apiece in the opening 15 minutes, with Sale crossing for the only try of the half around the half hour mark to take a 10-3 lead into the break. Wasps got off to the perfect start in the second half, with a try just two minutes in leveling matters at 10-10. Shortly after a Sale penalty saw the hosts back in front, but Wasps hit back from the restart with a second try to surge ahead 17-13. Approaching the hour mark a Wasps penalty made it a seven point ball game, but the lead was back to four with a Sale penalty shortly after. Wasps kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two penalties to push their advantage out to 26-16 with under ten minutes remaining. Sale ran in a late try which reduced the deficit to just three points with around three minutes to play, but Wasps were able to steal possession shortly after the restart to close out the match.
