Here is how we rated France in their victory.

15. Melvyn Jaminet - 6

It was a mixed bag for the French fullback with his 50:22 leading to France's second try having missed his first shot at goal. He had a mishap or two under the high ball. His goal kicking was well off the mark today.

14. Damian Penaud - 7.5

A nightmare to defend against with his footwork and offloading ability playing a significant role in France's second try. He grabbed one of his own on the hour mark as he finished off an excellent turnover attack. He kept his width to score his second after a great cross kick from Ntamack. Duhan van der Merwe did gain quite a bit of ground down Penaud's channel, but the Frenchman did have a strong game with the ball in hand.

13. Gaël Fickou - 8

Fickou was at his best on both sides of the ball. He shut down numerous Scottish attacks and created space on attack. He could have passed the ball to Cros but backed himself to round the Scotland defence and scored a sublime try in the corner. He did get the better of Chris Harris, who was replaced at halftime.

12. Jonathan Danty - 8

Danty produced an impressive performance back in the starting lineup that should cement his place for the upcoming games. He was relentless on defence, landing some hefty hits and winning two turnovers. He sent Penaud racing down the touchline to score his try and grabbed one of his own.

11. Yoram Moefana - 7

Some delicate footwork as he managed to gain some ground out wide. He did well to follow the attack and round off France's second try. He made over 60 running metres and beat defenders.

10. Romain Ntamack - 7

A Slow start from Ntamack with his kick out on the full, but the flyhalf hit back to produce a solid performance.

He combined nicely with Dupont to find holes in the Scottish defence and kicked well out of hand.

He showed his class with a perfectly weighted cross-kick for Penaud's second.

9. Antoine Dupont - 9

He carved through the Scottish defence from inside his own 22 to create an incredible opening try.

He kicked superbly throughout the game and was impactful on defence with over ten tackles.

Swift and accurate passes from the base and tested Scotland's fringe defence with his snipes.

1. Cyril Baille - 8

An outstanding performance from the loosehead prop. He brilliantly kept the ball in play with a superb offload for Moefana's try.

He scrummaged well and was a real threat with ball in hand, making over 20 running metres. He made eight tackles too.

2. Julien Marchand - 8

Marchand was a destructive presence over the ball, winning two turnovers at pivotal moments.

3. Uini Atonio - 6

He was forced off earlier than he would have liked but another strong performance in all facets of the game.

4. Cameron Woki - 8

Woki was superb at lineout time, putting Scotland's set-piece under pressure. He threw a nice pass from turnover ball that created Penaud's first try. He also was on hand to power Moefana over the line for his score. Brutal on defence and aggressive with the ball in hand.

5. Paul Willemse - 8

Willemse worked his socks off to catch up with France's attack after Dupont's break and was rewarded for doing so as he charged over the line for the opening try. He carried and tackled well and was cleared out rucks with tremendous force.

6. François Cros - 7

He was denied a five-pointer as Fickou held onto the ball, but Cros enjoyed a dynamic performance against Scotland. He topped the tackle count with 16 and won a turnover.

7. Anthony Jelonch - 7

Jelonch is renowned for his donkey work around the park, and his performance against Scotland was precisely that. He got stuck into the nitty-gritty of the game, clearing out rucks and thundering into tackles. He was replaced before the hour mark but still managed the second-highest tackle count in the game (15).

8. Grégory Alldritt - 7.5

Alldritt won three turnovers at the breakdown made 14 tackles and 28 running metres from his nine carries. The stats go some way in describing just how good of a game he had, but it was, in fact, it was far better than that—contender for the player of the tournament.
