Super Rugby Countdown - 2022 Super Rugby Most Prolific Runners

With Super Rugby just 9 days away we take a look back at last year and the top defenders beaten over the tournament

 

Timoci Tavatavanawai (Moana Pasifika)

Timoci Tavatavanawai is known for his powerful running and tackle breaking abilities. A former Fiji Under 20’s rep who was part of the Crusaders and Highlanders wider squads in 2021.After representing Fiji at Under 20’s level he moved to New Zealand and played for Central Rugby Club in the Marlborough region. He currently ply’s his trait for Moana Pasifika and during the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific competition he has beaten 73 defenders, the most out of any player in the competition.

 


 


 

Will Jordan (Crusaders)

 

Although Will Jordan looks to miss the start of the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific competition due to a lingering issue which ended his 2022 season. During the previous season he had beaten 63 defenders making him the second player in the competition to do so.

 

 

 

Vinaya Habosi (Fijian Drua)

 

The Drua are scheduled to get their new season underway with a February 25 clash with Moana Pasifika in Auckland, but they will do so without the recently-turned 23-year-old Habosi who lit up last year’s maiden year for the franchise by scoring five tries in a dozen starts. During his breakthrough season he had beaten 56 defenders.

 

 

 

Richie Mo’unga (Crusaders)

 

A total of 54 defenders were beaten Richie during the Super Rugby Pacific competition. A serial winner for the Crusaders, Richie Mo’unga is highly rated for his vision and attacking skills, which have seen him don the No 10 shirt for New Zealand.

 

 

 

Kalaveti Ravouvou (Fijin Drua)

 

Blockbusting centre Kalaveti Ravouvou is known for his powerful carries and tackle-breaking ability. This ability of his has allowed him to finish the list of top 5 players to beat defenders in the Super Rugby Pacific 2022.
