The Honey Badger is BACK!

The Honey Badger is BACK!

One of the most loved rugby players in the history of the game, Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins is set to make his long-awaited return to rugby.

The former Wallabies winger will be back for the Western Force's Global Rapid Rugby showcase series opener against a World XV on Friday March 22 at HBF Park.

Cummins last played for the Force in 2015 after eight years in Super Rugby when he scored 17 tries in 87 appearances and won 15 Wallabies caps.

In 2014 his Test career came to a sudden end just before he was set to feature in his first Rugby World Cup giving up his Wallabies dream to sign a contract with Japanese side the Red Sparks.

Cummins left for Coca Cola Red Sparks in 2014 when Rugby Australia refused to top up his Wallabies contract so he could financially help his family after his father was diagnosed with cancer. Two of his younger siblings have cystic fibrosis.

He returned for a final year with the Force before heading back to Japan. After he hung up his boots Cummins moved into television where he was the controversial star of the Bachelor when he refused to choose a final partner. He has appeared in a number of television commercials and in series of National Geographic documentaries promoting Australia.

“It will be so good to get home, strap on the boots and have a trot at the old stomping ground in front of the Sea of Blue," Cummins said.

"There's still a few kilometres left in these old getaway sticks and I’ll be out to bag as much meat in the corner as I can.

“I’m looking forward to having a fair crack at these new Rapid Rugby rules.

"There won’t be any complaints from us backs that’s for sure, the more running rugby the better.

"That’s what we all love and that’s what Rapid Rugby is all about. I can’t wait to get on the charge.

“I’ve been keeping in shape but maybe someone get an ambo on standby just in case.”
