Paula Ngauamo

Born and raised in Christchurch New Zealand, Paula Ngauamo is a product of local school Christchurch Boys' High School, however he represents Tonga at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds.

Ngauamo represented the New Zealand U20s in the 2010 U20 Rugby World Cup.

In 2014 he joined French side Oyonnax.

He made his debut for Tonga in on 7 June 2014 for a match against Samoa. He was later selected for the Tongan squad at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

In 2016 he signed a deal to join Mont de Marsan for the 2016/17 season and spent one season at the club before he agreed to join recently promoted Top 14 side Agen for the 2017/18 season.

In January 2018, after strong performances, he extended his contract until the end of the season as an "extra player". In April of that same year, he further extended his commitment with the Agenais club until 2020.

In 2019, he was again selected in the Tongan group to compete in the World Cup in Japan. He played three games in this competition, against Argentina , France and the United States.

In January 2021, after extra-sporting incidents, he was released from his contract with Agen and immediately joined Castres Olympique.

He has recently been included in Tonga's Rugby World Cup 2023 training squad.
