He had the opportunity to make his debut for the Sharks in a remarkable match against the British & Irish Lions on 10 July, during the highly anticipated 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa. This experience provided him with valuable exposure and a platform to showcase his skills at the highest level of the game.

Following his initial stint with the Sharks, Jonker was subsequently loaned out to the Griquas for the 2022 edition of the Carling Currie Cup.
