Allan's rugby journey began with the London Wasps Academy in 2011, where he honed his skills before captaining the RGS High Wycombe rugby side. His talent and potential led him to represent Western Province in South Africa, where he played a crucial role in winning the Under-19 Provincial Championship.

After his stint in South Africa, Allan joined Perpignan, a French Top 14 side, just before the 2013-14 season. He made his debut for Perpignan in a match against Racing Métro, showcasing his kicking abilities and contributing points to the team's efforts. Allan's impressive performances caught the attention of the Italian national team selectors, leading to his call-up.

Allan quickly made an impact on the international stage, making his test debut against Australia during the 2013 Autumn Internationals.
