Hollis kickstarted his rugby journey during his formative years at Queen's College in Queenstown. Representing the school's first team, he made a significant impact and showcased his potential as a player. His performances earned him recognition, leading to his inclusion in Border's U18 squad for the prestigious 2016 Craven Week, held in Durban. The exposure at such a high-level competition further fueled his ambition to pursue a career in rugby.

Driven to explore new opportunities and take his game to the next level, Hollis made the decision to move to Pretoria. There, he joined the esteemed Blue Bulls rugby setup, immersing himself in the rich rugby culture of the region. Hollis spent two years playing for the Blue Bulls' youth teams in 2017 and 2018, refining his skills and gaining valuable experience along the way.

In 2019, Hollis took his talents to the university stage, donning the jersey of NMU Madibaz in the Varsity Cup. Representing Nelson Mandela University, he showcased his abilities against formidable opposition, leaving a lasting impression on both fans and scouts. Hollis's performances in the Varsity Cup caught the attention of the Southern Kings, a Pro14 side, who recognized his potential and signed him for their squad.

Hollis made his long-awaited senior debut for the Southern Kings in the opening round of the 2019-20 Pro14 season. Despite the team's narrow 27-31 defeat to the Cardiff Blues, Hollis demonstrated his versatility and adaptability in the centre or wing positions. His ability to make an impact on the field was further highlighted in his second appearance, where he scored his first senior try in a closely contested match against Benetton in Treviso. These early achievements showcased Hollis's determination, skill, and potential to become a prominent figure in South African rugby.

Currently, Hollis plies his trade for the Griquas in the highly competitive Currie Cup. As he continues to develop his game and contribute to his team's success, Hollis aspires to leave a lasting impact in the sport.
