Haydn Thomas

17th Sep 1982 1.73m/80kg Scrum Half

The scrumhalf from Marston Green, England has earned himself a reputation as a fierce competitor at nine. The diminutive Thomas has spent time at Gloucester and Bristol while also enjoying two stints at Exeter, whom he rejoined in the summer of 2009. Twice called up for England, Haydn is yet to earn a full cap.

Thomas debuted for the then National League One club back in 2003 in an away fixture at Bedford, before his career took him to the Premiership where he featured for both Gloucester and Bristol.

Haydn signed a new contract in 2014 - Head coach Baxter wants him to provide strong leadership to the young scrum halves at the club.

In May 2017, Haydn Thomas confirmed he will be retiring from playing at the end of the season.

The long-serving scrum-half has played a pivotal role in the rise of the Devon club over the years, amassing 211 appearances and 46 tries, but will now move into a new full-time academy role with the club from July 2017 onwards.
