Lund came through the ranks of the Sharks Academy and made his first-team Sale debut in 2002 against Bristol Shoguns.
He was also a member of the Sale side that lifted the Premiership trophy in 2006 and won 10 England caps, with many observers believing he was unlucky not to win more international recognition.
He left Sale in 2008 to embark on a successful six-year stint at Biarritz, where he became club captain and appeared in the 2010 Heineken Cup final defeat by Toulouse.
Although his career was stalled by a serious knee injury towards the end of his time in the Basque region, Lund has produced a serious of outstanding displays in the 2015/16 season.
Lund was released from Sale Sharks at the end of the 2016/17 season.
