B&I Lions Player Ratings v Waratahs

The Waratahs, and Charlie Gamble, made heavy work for the British and Irish Lions as the visitors limped to a 10-21 win. Some late changes before kick off saw Scott Cummings come in and start at lock and Duhan vd Merwe go onto the bench but all in all it was not a great game for the visitors. Here are our player ratings.

A much better set piece performance from the Scotland prop

Needed to make more of an impact

  3. Finlay Bealham - 6:

Good at set piece, more impact needed

  4. Scott Cummings - 7:

Impressive especially for a late inclusion

    Quiet outing

  6. Tadhg Beirne - 5:

Not his best showing and a troubling one considering you suspect he will start the first tes

  7. Josh vd Flier - 6:

Defensive machine but should have scored when the chance presented itself.

Big showing with plenty of work and carries. Best of the lot in a poor game

Finished well to score a vital try distributed well too.

  10. Finn Smith - 6:

Needed to impose himself more on the game

  11. Blair Kinghorn - 6:

Best suited at 15 but an important run out after just arriving

  12. Sione Tuipulotu - 5:

Linked well with Jones a few times but not where he should be

  13. Huw Jones - 7:

Superb line for his first try, deadly on attack and always a threat

  14. Mack Hansen - 6:

May have played himself out of contention for the first test.

  15. Hugo Keenan - 5:

Might get another game to push for a test start but missed a vital tackle
