Changes to Super Rugby try bonus points system still to be approved by World Rugby
SANZAR's plans to implement changes to the Super Rugby try bonus points system are still to be approved by World Rugby. There is also talk of having referees' microphones broadcast to the ground so that fans can listen in.
Under the old system, teams received a bonus point for scoring four or more tries. The proposal is to now award an attacking bonus point if they score three more tries than their opponents. SANZAR are enthusiastic about the change as it will reward defence as well as attack.
A SANZAR spokesperson has said that an announcement is not expected until next week.
