Highlights: Otago vs Tasman Makos

The Tasman Makos edged Otago 29-27 in round 5 of the Mitre 10 Cup. The sides traded early penalties before Tasman crossed for two quick tries to lead 15-3. Otago hit back with a try of their own and slotted a penalty to close the gap to just two points. However, Tasman would run in their third try of the half for a 22-13 lead at the break. A penalty try early in the second half extended the Tasman lead to 29-13, with both sides picking up a yellow card. It got worse for Tasman as they went down to 13 men with a red card with 25 minutes to play. Otago managed to score two tries inside the final 10 minutes to set up a tense finish, but Tasman survived the fightback to hold on for a two point victory.
