Edinburgh pull massive second half comeback in Champions Cup against the Cherry & Whites

Edinburgh hosted Gloucester Rugby in the third round of the Champions Cup. The visitors were off to a strong start scoring within the first 90 seconds. 15 minutes later Edinburgh replied through Ben Vellacott who opened the scoring for them. Edinburgh’s discipline let them down as they gave away penalties in the first half which George Barton slotted over with ease.
With 90 seconds to go, Gloucester scored their second try of the game making a 13-point game at the break.
10 minutes into the second half, Scotland hooker Ewan Ashman scored Edinburgh’s second try. A few minutes later Liam McConnel scored another for the hosts, and it was game on.
Edinburgh put the Cherry and Whites under pressure, and in the 67 minutes they were awarded a penalty try and Charlie Atkinson shown a yellow card for collapsing the maul and impeding the try. For the first time in the game Edinburgh were in the lead. Gloucester slotted over a penalty and applied pressure in the last few minutes, but the Edinburgh defence held strong and won a penalty right at the 80th minute to seal the victory.
The final score was 26-24.
