Saints secure win despite huge Gloucester comeback

Northampton suffered another scare after giving up a huge lead for the second week in a row. Last week the Saints gave up 33-7 lead to Exeter to finish 33-33 at full time and this week against the Cherry and Whites they nearly lost after holding a 0-31 lead.

Jordan and Joseph started the comeback for the hosts and things went from bad to worse when Hendy and Pearson were sin binned for the visitors within four minutes of each other. Northampton conceded just once during that time but eventually saw their lead dissapear and they were forced to chase the game with nine minutes left when they went down 35-34.

Things were looking good for Gloucester but they ultimately gave Anthony Belleau an opportunity to regain the lead for Northampton by gifting them a penalty and he took it allowing his side to hold a slender two point lad which they were able to defend for the remaining 7 minutes
