Valetini Blow as Wallabies Prepare for Final Lions Test

The Wallabies have been dealt a significant setback ahead of the third and final Test against the British & Irish Lions in Sydney, with powerful back-rower Rob Valetini ruled out due to a recurring calf injury.
Valetini returned in Melbourne after missing the opening Test but lasted only 40 minutes before his injury flared up again. His presence had been instrumental in turning the physical tide for Australia, and his absence at Accor Stadium is a major blow to the Wallabies' hopes of salvaging a 2-1 series result.
Coach Joe Schmidt is expected to turn to Langi Gleeson as a starting replacement, with Tom Hooper likely added to the bench. No additional squad members have been called up.
The Wallabies will also be without veteran prop Allan Alaalatoa (shoulder), while scrumhalf Nic White is tipped to replace Jake Gordon, with wet weather forecast making White’s kicking game an asset. White, 35, is reportedly set to retire from international rugby after the match.
In more positive news, Will Skelton has been cleared to start again, and Taniela Tupou is set for a return to the squad. Dylan Pietsch is expected to replace injured winger Harry Potter, while the midfield combination of Len Ikitau and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii remains unchanged.
Team selection will be confirmed Thursday.
