A product of Iona College, Queensland Wilken went on to play and study at Sydney University.
He signed in 2015 for the Waratahs joined the core playing squad with a wealth of experience in both fifteens and Sevens at domestic and international level.
He represented the Australian Men’s Sevens on the World Series circuit after signing with the national program in January. At the 2015 National Sevens Championships, Wilkin was named Player of the Tournament by the Australian Men’s Sevens Coach.
He was part of the Australian Schoolboys again in 2013. He captained the Queensland Schools team at the Australian Schoolboys Championships held at St. Ignatius College that year after representing his country in Rugby Sevens at the Youth Olympics Festival.
A member of the Queensland Reds Elite Development squad, in 2014 Wilkin was considered a key talent within the Easts Rugby Union Club in Queensland and was part of the Brisbane City side who took hold of the inaugural Buildcorp NRC Championship title.
A powerful-mobile forward, Wilkin earned his first Super Rugby contract when he was signed by the NSW Waratahs in 2017.
He made his debut in Round 15 against the Chiefs as a reserve flanker. Wilkin then held his spot in the side to register six consecutive games, and featured in the Waratahs semi-final loss to the Lions in Johannesburg.
While his Super Rugby season ended disappointingly, Wilkin would still taste premiership success as a member of Sydney University's thrilling Grand Final win over the Warringah Rats at North Sydney Oval.
Wilkin joined the Rebels for the 2019 season and played in the side's first five games.
His standout seasons came in 21/22 and 22/23 for the Super Rugby Pacific where he played 28 matches scoring 8 tries for the Brumbies.
As a result of his fine performances, Wilkin earned a call up to the Wallabies where he made a debut for Australia "A" against Tonga in 2023.
