Venter signed for the Lions after he was spotted by the Union when he represented Sharks at the 2014 Craven Week.
The flanker went on to represent UJ in the Varsity Cup
2019 saw him play for the Lions before being included in the Sharks squad for the 2020 Super Rugby season.
