A last gasp drop goal by Toulon sees them edge La Rochelle 18-15 in a thrilling semi final. La Rochelle took a 9-6 lead into the break and two early second half penalties saw them extend that to 15-6. However, the game was turned on it's head as La Rochelle picked up a red card for a dangerous tackle with 30 minutes to play. Toulon immediately capitalized with two quick penalties to get within three points of the hosts. Another penalty to Toulon leveled things up at 15-15 with just over 10 minutes remaining. La Rochelle missed two long range penalties in the final 10 minutes and it would come back to bite as Toulon worked themselves downfield to nail a match winning drop goal after the siren had sounded.
