Oli Spencer has extended his stay at Newcastle Red Bulls, with the academy graduate signing a new two-year deal.
The 22-year-old has made 51 first-team appearances, and this season has scored six tries in 19 games.
The former Sedbergh School pupil has played wing, full-back and centre during his time with the club and was part of the England Under-20s squad which won the Junior World Championship and Six Nations titles in 2024.
Spencer said: “I’m really excited for what’s to come, and it’s pretty cool to see the ambition and excitement from everyone around the future of the club.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here, since my first experiences in the academy through to now.
“I’ve had lots of help through injuries, so to be playing more regularly this season isn’t something I’ve taken for granted.
“Lots of people have mentioned how exciting these times are for the club, and personally I think this is definitely the best place for me to keep developing my rugby.”
Newcastle Red Bulls sporting general manager Neil McIlroy said: “Oli has had a lot of first-team exposure this season and has taken his opportunities, so it’s great to have extended his contract.
“Having a core of young, homegrown players is very important to us as we build for the future.
“In Oli we have a real talent who offers a lot to our game, and I am sure he will flourish in the environment we are creating here.”
