Pani Returns as Italy Target Historic Dublin Win
- 202
Italy Head Coach Gonzalo Quesada has made a single change to his starting XV for the Italy’s Round 2 Guinness Six Nations clash against Ireland this Saturday. Following an opening-round win over Scotland, Italy heads to the Aviva Stadium with a largely consistent lineup to face the defending champions.
Lorenzo Pani returns at fullback for his first start in two years, joining wings Monty Ioane and Louis Lynagh in the back three. The midfield will see Leonardo Marin partner up with Tommaso Menoncello, while Paolo Garbisi and Alessandro Fusco continue as the starting half-backs respectively.
The forward pack remains unchanged. Captain Michele Lamaro leads a back row featuring Lorenzo Cannone and Manuel Zuliani, who earns his 40th cap. Simone Ferrari, the Player of the Match against Scotland, anchors the front row alongside Giacomo Nicotera and Danilo Fischetti. On the bench, impact players include Federico Ruzza and Paolo Odogwu.
The match marks a historic milestone as Scotland’s Hollie Davidson becomes the first woman to referee a men’s Six Nations fixture.
