Parma lineup for third round of the Challenger Cup against Dragons announced

Parma, 12 January 2024 –
 First match of 2024 for the Zebre Parma First Team . While the women's franchise made their international debut with last Sunday's victory in Valencia, coach Roselli's XV will return to action on Saturday 13 January at the Lanfranchi Stadium in Parma in the 3rd round of the EPCR Challenge Cup .

The opponents of the day, at 4.15pm , will be the Gallesi Dragons , third in Group One with 6 points, the result of a victory and a defeat in the first two days of December.

It will be the 19th official match with the Newport team, defeated on seven occasions by the players of the ducal franchise. The challenge will be broadcast live via paid live streaming on the EPCR TV platform ( ); alternatively, it will be possible to follow the textual commentary of the match on the Zebre Twitter account with the hashtag #ZEBvDRA .

The yellow-blues, fourth in the standings with four points after the away win at Oyonnax, need a victory to fuel their run for the playoffs of the tournament, which starts in the first weekend of April with the direct elimination round of 16.

During the week, the Zebre technical staff welcomed the return of Licata and Lucchin to the team, the latter having started from the first minute. Rest session for the captain and for the Azzurri n° 9 Alessandro Fusco who continues his recovery process following an ankle injury suffered on 30 December in Treviso.

In addition to the athletes called up with the U23 national team, Filippo Bozzoni, Tommaso Di Bartolomeo and Riccardo Genovese, Luca Andreani and David Sisi will not take part in the match, both injured in the return derby with Benetton Rugby on the ankle and hand respectively.

The team will be led by national team center Luca Morisi. Danilo Fischetti is chasing the milestone of 50 official appearances with the Zebre shirt.
