Ollie Atkins

12th Aug 1988 2.00m/117kg No 4 Lock

Described as a stand out for his work rate and the impact around the ground, the Students' lock puts his 117kg, 200cm frame to good use across the field, whether it be with ball in hand, at the breakdown or tackle or in the set piece. Born in Tasmania, Ollie moved to the Kangaroo Valley in the NSW Southern Highlands 18 months later, before settling in the Bondi area at the age of six.

Shortly after taking up a full time trade support role with GrainCorp, the Hobart-born lock got his first taste of professional rugby when he received a late Super Rugby call up from the Western Force, making his debut against the Blues in Auckland in round 16 playing a full 80 minutes in the 32-9 loss at Eden Park and adding a second appearance the following week against the Crusaders.

The Australian lock moved to Exeter Chiefs following two years at Edinburgh Rugby. Appearing 25 times for the Scottish side. Atkins signed on a two year deal, replacing the departing Dean Mumm at the club.

The Hobart-born forward extended his stay at the club by signing a two year deal at the club in March 2017.

As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Atkins has had 14 European Cups appearances and at the end of the season he announced his move to newly Pro D2 promoted side Rouen Normandie Rugby from the 2019/2020 season
