Favretto began his rugby journey in his hometown of Treviso and developed a passion for the sport at a young age. He used to watch the matches of the local team, Benetton, at the Monigo stadium. He started his playing career in the youth system of Silea Rugby before joining the Under 16 teams of Mogliano and Casale.
His talent and potential led him to join Benetton's Under 18 team, where he further honed his skills. He was also part of the U18 Permanent Training Center in Treviso and represented the Italian U18 National Team.
In July 2019, Favretto made a move to Mogliano Rugby and made three appearances in the TOP12 competition. He impressed the technical staff at Benetton and was invited to participate in their summer training sessions as a guest player in both 2019 and 2020.
Favretto's performances caught the attention of Benetton, and he was named a Permit Player for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Pro14 seasons while under contract with Mogliano.
He showcased his versatility as a second and third row player and made 13 appearances for Benetton in the PRO14 and Challenge Cup during his first season with the team. He also earned a call-up to the senior national team, making one appearance in the Six Nations in 2021.
His talent and potential were recognized at the international level as well. In 2020, Favretto was selected for the Italy Under 20 squad for the Six Nations tournament. He earned three caps during the competition.
In May 2021, Favretto signed a new contract with Benetton Rugby, securing his place in the first-team squad until 2023. This signing further solidified his commitment to Benetton and his continued growth as a player.
