Having impressed the Counties Manukau coaching staff while representing Patumahoe rugby club, attacking playmaker Riley Hohepa made his debut for the Steelers in the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup.
Hohepa played 3 seasons for the Counties Manukau from 2019-2022, playing 19 matches and scoring 133 points for the Manukau.
Ahead of the 2023 Super Rugby season, Hohepa will be loking to make his mark for the Hurricanes team.
