All and all bigger picture is what we are focused on, never thought the score line didn't represent the true difference in skill between the sides.
David, 3-5 years is a massive amount of time. The team is trying to change its style of play it's not going to be an overnight success. Records indicate the reason why teams beat NZ and a large reason why South Africa was the most successful team vs. NZ is they play defensive rugby and keep the score under 21. When this doesn't happen NZ has almost always wins. While that style of play wins matches it doesn't win fans. The coaching staff needs to get a move on in getting it changed and suffer the short term losses. Janjties is in his first season of test rugby, it's a bigger much hard beast to handle when compared to super rugby so yeah he's 20 something in his first year... He's only going to improve. If you hadn't noticed I was talking **** about the refs on purpose they did a bad job and generally favour NZ. Look at the what Habana did straight after the final whistle went to go chat with the touch judge about some shocking calls. Like it or not most teams are rebuilding with the exception of England who decided the World Cup year was when they were gonna start and New Zealand who has the luxury of young talented players not needing to be bloodied before they perform.
Nah man full strength Ireland in November, we'll give it a good crack at least. We've played the last year with essentially our second team
England is the only team that has a chance at the moment in beating the AB's
Won't someone please give us a decent match?
Darth, no one is making excuses, we are discussing legitimate underlying issues over why SA rugby is in the state it's in.
And Phil, I will always stick to my team, I don't have to like what's happening but I will always support them
What a hiding! No excuses gents SA need to front up better than that and for 80 mins!!!
Can't argue with that David
Nic S., you talk a lot of rubbish. You said earlier "a 20 year old in his first year" as a SA player is under a lot of pressure, referring to Jantjies- who is 26.
Then you choose to blame referees? Bribed referees cannot win you a match by nearly 30 points.
And you say in 3-5 years that Australia and South Africa will be better than New Zealand? Now I don't know how bad NZ can get in that short space of time, but it surely can't be that bad. Australia has been getting worse and worse for years, and due to a lack of depth I can't see them improving. South Africa have a total lack of cohesion, are held back by quotas and have a poor coach who won't be replaced even though he needs to be.
NZ new biggest rival in the Southern Hemisphere is Argentina, as Aus and SA continue their decline.
