Schmidt: Ireland still in the race

Ireland coach Joe Schmidt insists confidence will remain high in the camp this week, despite seeing their hopes of a Grand Slam in this year's Six Nations having disappeared with defeat to Wales.


Previously unbeaten Ireland slumped to a 16-23 defeat at the Millennium Stadium last Saturday - ultimately failing to recover from falling 0-12 behind early on.


It was their first defeat in 11 matches, while Wales' victory, as well as a triumph for England over Scotland, means the three teams now have six points each in this year's tournament.
