The promise Hanekom showed as an age group player for Griquas
U18s came full circle when she made her international debut against
Madagascar in 2023, but an injury shortly after resulted in her missing
most of the 2024 season. The Maties and DHL Western Province player
made a successful return to the field though and kept delivering solid
performances for her province and when called upon national duties
for the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup this year, did so again with aplomb,
starting in all three matches to confirm her rising status in the national
set-up
