Hugh Sinclair

20th Sep 1992 1.90m/113kg Openside Flanker

Sydney born Hugh Sinclair was an integral part of the Norths team who won the Shute Shield Premiership in 2016, and broke a 41-year club drought. A real threat around lineout and scrum time, Sinclair has the potential to switch between flanker and No.8.

Hugh and his brother Angus, both Vice-Captains for the Norths side, performed outstandingly throughout the 2016 season, with Hugh being capped Man of the Match in the history-making grand final between Norths and Sydney Uni. Hugh's 2016 performances earned him a spot on the Sydney Rays NRC side for the second year.

In 2017, after having a break out season with the Norths and the Rays, Hugh was contacted by the Melbourne Rebels in the middle of the Shute Shield season to make a start for the Melbourne Rebels.

Now with Super Rugby experience under his belt, Hugh returns to the Sydney Rays in 2017 for his third season in the NRC. The 189cm flanker has earnt his stripes with North Sydney, racking up 100 grade games for the club by 2019.

An integral part of the Shoremen’s drought-breaking premiership in 2016, Sinclair earned a contract with the Melbourne Rebels in 2017 off the back of strong performances in the National Rugby Championship (NRC). He returned to his home state in 2018 and continued to ply his trade in the NRC, then making a handful of appearances for the NSW Waratahs in 2019 as injury cover.

In October 2019, having already made eight appearances for the Waratahs, Sinclair signed a two year deal with the Tahs.
