Top Performers: Argentina vs Tonga

A wonderful first half performance from Argentina was enough for them to get past a Tongan side that improved dramatically in the second half. Los Pumas scored four first half tires which saw them defeat their Pacific Nation opponents 28-12 at the Hanazono Rugby Stadium.

Tonga managed to keep the Argentine’s scoreless the entire second half of the match which is really a wonderful effort, if you consider they leaked 28 points in quick succession before the HT hooter.

Here are his three tries:

Although he found himself on the losing side, the fullback was in red-hot form in the match and created lots of opportunities in the second half. Veainu beat nine defenders in the match and gained a solid 37 metres in his 73 minutes of play. The No. 15 also scored two wonderful tries.

Marcos Kremer (Argentina)

The 22-year-old loose forward put in a massive shift for Los Pumas and played a full 80 minutes of rugby. He made 10 carries in the match and also back that up with 14 tackles, which provided crucial on defence.

The 22-year-old winger got his first start for his country today and boy he didn't disappoint at all. The Jaguares star scored a lovely intercept try and then produced three clean breaks in the match. He also made 87 metres in the but sadly did miss three tackles on defence.
